Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026
This policy covers the SnapGlow browser extension and the getsnapglow.com website. In short: the pages you redact and the screenshots you take never leave your device. The only personal data SnapGlow sends anywhere is your license key, when you activate or check SnapGlow Pro.
What stays on your device
SnapGlow finds emails, API keys, amounts and other patterns with local code running in your browser. Page content, redacted text, captures and annotations are processed in the tab and are never uploaded. Images only leave the browser when you copy them to your clipboard or save them to your computer yourself.
Your settings are saved in your browser's extension storage on this device: redaction preferences, custom words and patterns, per-site rules, Studio defaults, and, if you have Pro, your license key and activation details. Uninstalling the extension deletes them. You can export or reset your settings from the extension's settings page.
SnapGlow has no account system, no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no remote code.
What is sent, and to whom
Payments and licenses are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. When you activate Pro, and about once a day afterwards to check the license is still valid, the extension sends Dodo Payments your license key, an activation ID, and a label for this browser (for example "SnapGlow · Chrome on Windows · 3f9a1c2e"; the code is random and identifies only the activation). Deactivating a browser sends the same key and activation ID. Nothing about the pages you visit is included.
When you buy Pro, you enter your email and payment details on Dodo Payments' checkout, under their privacy policy. We receive what a merchant needs to support your order, such as your name, email, country and order status. We never see your full card details.
The website
getsnapglow.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or third-party trackers. Fonts are served from our own domain. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and reliability.
If you use the license manager, the key or email you enter is sent to our server only to answer that request: keys are checked with Dodo Payments, and IP addresses are held briefly in memory to limit abuse. We don't store them. The demo key and the interactive simulator run entirely in your browser.
Browser permissions
By default SnapGlow reads a page only when you open it there with the toolbar icon or a shortcut. Domain Shield asks for access to one site at a time when you turn it on for that site, and Live Shield asks for access to all sites when you turn it on, so it can redact every tab while you present. Those features run on the sites you granted until you turn them off or remove access in your browser's extension settings. Everything they do still happens on your device.
Sharing and selling
We don't sell, rent or share your data, and we don't use it for advertising, credit decisions or anything unrelated to providing SnapGlow. The only third party involved is Dodo Payments, for the payment and license checks described above.
Children
SnapGlow is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. For questions, or to ask what order data we hold about you, contact us at the support email on our Chrome Web Store listing.
